Our Vision

Our vision is that all Australian patients, no matter what their cultural or indigenous heritage, have a fair chance of finding their blood stem cell match to have a lifesaving stem cell transplant.

Patients with a culturally diverse or indigenous background struggle to find their match because there are not enough people from these groups registered as potential donors. A patient is more likely to find their match with someone who shares a similar cultural background to them.

Our Mission

Our mission is to significantly increase the number of donors on the Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR); with particular focus on improving the ethnic diversity of the donor pool and increasing the number of young males joining the donor registry.

People with these characteristics make the best donors for a better patient outcome plus it's the only way we can increase the chances of matching.
